1. Membership Applications

All membership applications are subject to review by the Anglo-Portuguese Society. Submission of an application form and payment does not automatically guarantee acceptance of membership. The Society reserves the right to request further information or clarification where necessary, and to refuse or decline an application at its discretion, in line with its charitable objectives and governance responsibilities. Where any questions arise in relation to an application, we will contact the applicant directly.

2. Membership Duration

Membership runs for a period of one (1) year. For members joining from 1 January 2025 onwards, the membership year runs from the date of joining. For members who joined prior to 1 June 2025, the membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December.

3. Renewals and Cancellation

Memberships renew annually. Members who wish to cancel their membership must notify the Society prior to the renewal date. Cancellation requests must be made by the member themselves (not by a third party) and must be received in writing (by email or via the Society's official contact channels). If notice is not received within the required timeframe, the membership will be deemed renewed for the following year.

4. Refunds

Membership subscriptions are used to support the Society's charitable activities. As such, membership fees are non-refundable once the renewal date has passed, and no refunds will be issued for partial membership periods or late cancellation requests.

5. Communications and Language

As a registered charity in England and Wales, the official language of the Anglo-Portuguese Society is English. All formal communications, documentation and membership correspondence will be conducted in English.

6. General

By applying for membership, applicants confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
