About Max Graham and Bar Douro

Bringing the terra of Portugal to the arches of London Bridge, Bar Douro opened in November 2016 at Flat Iron Square. Founder Max Graham spent his childhood in Porto where his family business Churchill's is based, and where his family have been producing wine in the Douro Valley for over two centuries. His restaurants draw inspiration from the traditional cervejarias and tascas of Lisbon and Porto, serving up a contemporary take on Portuguese cuisine alongside expertly sourced regional wines. In early 2020 Max opened his second restaurant in the City and later unveiled his online Bottle Shop selling over 70 Portuguese wines and ports. In September 2020, he launched the Bar Douro Wine Club, which sees subscribers receive 6 cutting-edge Portuguese wines every 3 months.

About Vasco Coelho Santos and Group Euskalduna

During the final year of his Business Management degree, Vasco realized that his passion for cooking was stronger than his love for numbers. He went to Lisbon to study at Atelier de Cozinha Michel and did an internship at Restaurante Olivier and Tavares Rico. In 2010, Vasco left for Spain to work at some of the best restaurants in the world: Mugaritz, Arzak and El Bulli. When he came back to Porto, Vasco worked at Pedro Lemos and, before starting a Private Cooking project, he travelled through many European and Asian countries, along the way working at Viajante in London and 2am: Dessert Bar in Singapore. In 2016, Vasco opened Euskalduna Studio in Porto: his first space of contemporary author's cuisine, gaining national and international recognition. In June 2018, he opened Semea by Euskalduna also in Porto. Today, Grupo Euskalduna also features Euskalduna Private Cooking, Ogi by Euskalduna (a bakery) and Peixaria by Euskalduna (a fishmonger).
